Joanna Bornstein, MD PC

I’m a Harvard- and UCSF-trained psychiatrist who focuses on the evaluation and treatment of adult ADHD, anxiety, and mood disorders.

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable individuals who care deeply about their work and relationships but struggle with procrastination, difficulty starting tasks, disorganization, or managing competing demands at work and at home.

On the surface, things may appear to be going well, while privately, they may be dealing with overwhelm or persistent self-doubt. Many have spent years wondering why things that seem manageable for others feel so difficult for them.

I also work with many women and others whose symptoms may become more noticeable later in life, including during periods of hormonal change such as perimenopause. ADHD does not always present in obvious ways, particularly in people who have developed strong coping strategies over time.

Questions about whether ADHD may be part of the picture are often the starting point.

In other cases, anxiety, depression, or other mood symptoms may be making things harder at work, in relationships, or in daily life. A careful evaluation can help clarify what may be contributing to these difficulties and what treatment options may be helpful.
